Private Price Requests on Data Boutique

The Private Price Request feature allows buyers who may be interested in a dataset but find the current price outside their budget to request a custom price from the seller. This feature enables buyers to provide additional context around their needs and buying intentions, while giving sellers a flexible option to meet specific demand on a case-by-case basis.

How Private Price Requests Work

  1. Buyer’s Request: If a buyer is interested in a dataset but would prefer a different price, they can submit a Private Price Request. The buyer includes context about their request, such as a commitment to purchase regularly or a specific duration they intend to buy for. This helps the seller assess the request's potential value and consider a price adjustment.
  2. Seller’s Decision Window: Upon receiving a Private Price Request, the seller has 72 hours to review and decide whether to accept or reject it. Sellers have full discretion over these requests and can determine whether the potential sales volume justifies offering a custom price.
  3. One-Time Custom Price: If the seller accepts the request, the buyer receives a custom price for that specific purchase only. This price:
    • Is not visible to other buyers.
    • Does not carry over to any other purchases the buyer may make.
    • Is not eligible for additional bundle or historical data discounts.

The Private Price Request feature provides a one-time, non-binding negotiation option, enabling sellers to cater to specific buyer needs without adjusting the dataset’s general market price.

Benefits of Private Price Requests

  • For Buyers: Provides a flexible way to negotiate a price, especially for buyers interested in long-term or high-frequency purchases.
  • For Sellers: Offers an option to capture sales that might otherwise be missed due to pricing alone, while maintaining full control over the terms.

In Summary

The Private Price Request feature allows buyers to negotiate a one-time custom price by sharing additional context with the seller. Sellers have 72 hours to accept or decline, and any approved price applies only to that purchase, without impacting general bundle or historical data discounts. This feature offers flexibility for both parties, helping meet specific purchasing needs while maintaining transparency and control over pricing on Data Boutique.
