Recurrent Data Refreshes (Scheduled Updates)

For users needing regular updates of a website’s data, Data Boutique offers scheduled updates to keep your datasets fresh and current. This feature allows you to automate data refreshes based on a chosen frequency, ensuring you always have the latest information.

Available Update Frequencies

When setting up scheduled updates, you can choose from three standard frequencies:

  • Monthly: One refresh at the beginning of each month.
  • Weekly: One refresh each week on Mondays.
  • Daily: One refresh every day.

These options provide flexibility for various use cases, from occasional updates to high-frequency data needs.

How to Order Scheduled Updates

There are two ways to set up scheduled updates, each with its own advantages depending on your needs:

  1. Direct Order Option:
    • During the order phase, simply indicate that you would like to set up a recurring data refresh.
    • This option creates an open order that can be paused or stopped at any time, offering flexibility in usage.
    • Typically, this option does not include a volume discount, but it’s ideal for users who need adaptability without a long-term commitment.
  2. Using Data Bundles:
    • Data Bundles allow you to schedule future updates while also benefiting from bulk pricing. Discounts increase based on the frequency and duration of the order, providing cost-effective solutions for high-volume needs.
    • This option is suited for systematic data users who want regular updates with the advantage of reduced pricing over time.

Delivery of Recurrent Orders

Once you set up a recurring order, each dataset refresh will be delivered automatically:

  • User Folder: Access your updated datasets under “My Orders” within your account.
  • AWS S3 API: For API users, refreshed datasets will be available via your designated AWS S3 storage.

Each dataset refresh is added to your monthly consumption usage and billed at the end of the month, making it easy to track expenses across all scheduled updates.

In Summary

  • Flexible Update Frequencies: Choose from monthly, weekly, or daily refreshes to meet your data needs.
  • Ordering Options:
    • Direct Order: Flexible and can be stopped anytime, though usually without discounts.
    • Data Bundles: Scheduled updates with bulk pricing, offering cost savings for long-term users.
  • Automatic Delivery: Refreshed datasets are delivered to your account folder or accessible via AWS S3 API.
  • Billing: Each refresh is added to your consumption-based bill, payable at the end of the month.

With scheduled updates, you can keep your datasets current without manual reordering, making Data Boutique a convenient solution for systematic data needs.
