Registration and Seller Onboarding on Data Boutique

While Data Boutique provides open opportunities for anyone to sell and monetize data, we follow a structured onboarding process to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain data quality standards. This process is designed to create a secure and transparent environment for both sellers and buyers.

The Seller Onboarding Process

To become a seller on Data Boutique, you must complete a registration and onboarding process that verifies your identity and ensures your data meets quality standards.

  1. Seller Identification: All sellers are required to identify themselves by providing certain identification details. This includes:
    • Full Name: Your real name, as part of our Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
    • Address: A current residential or business address.
    • Business Registration: If applicable, business registration details should be included.
    • Pseudonym (Optional): You may choose a pseudonym or a business name that will appear publicly on the platform. However, your real name must be provided upon registration to fulfill regulatory needs.
  2. Payment Method Registration: To receive payments, sellers must link a registered payment method. We support two main payment options:
    • Stripe Connect: Sellers are validated via Stripe, meeting KYC requirements and ensuring secure payment transfers.
    • Business PayPal Account: Individual sellers who prefer PayPal can link a business PayPal account instead, offering a flexible option for those who may not use Stripe.
  3. Quality Assurance (QA) Process: Each dataset uploaded to Data Boutique undergoes a QA review to ensure it meets our quality standards for schema accuracy, field content, and extraction completeness. This process is performed on a per-file basis, ensuring each dataset is reliable and ready for buyer use.

Note on Pseudonyms

While Data Boutique allows sellers to publicly operate under a pseudonym or business name, all sellers must provide their real name during registration. This requirement is part of our commitment to regulatory compliance and KYC standards, ensuring a secure and trusted platform for all users.

In Summary

  • Identification Requirements: Sellers must provide real identification information, including name, address, and (if applicable) business registration details.
  • Payment Validation: Sellers can choose Stripe Connect or a business PayPal account as their registered payment method.
  • Quality Assurance: Each dataset undergoes QA to ensure quality and reliability before it’s made available for purchase.

By following these steps, Data Boutique creates a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment for data transactions, allowing sellers to monetize their data confidently and securely.
