Payment Methods on Data Boutique
Data Boutique provides two secure payment methods, both handled by Stripe, to make transactions straightforward and reliable. Whether you're a non-logged user making a single purchase or a registered user with recurring orders, you can choose the payment method that best fits your needs.
1. Payment Link
The Payment Link option is the default method for non-logged users. With this method, each purchase is processed individually:
- After selecting a dataset to purchase, a payment link will be sent to the email address you provide.
- Simply follow the link to complete the transaction securely on Stripe. Each file you purchase requires a separate payment.
Important: Please ensure that you provide a valid email address when registering or ordering as a guest on Data Boutique. This will ensure you receive the payment link and can access your purchased data. If you don’t see the payment email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
2. Consumption Billing
For registered users, Consumption Billing offers a convenient option to pay monthly for all purchases made within a billing cycle:
- After registering and entering your payment information on Stripe, all purchases for the month are consolidated into one monthly bill.
- Your billing cycle will be based on the date you activate your subscription. For example, if you set up your payment method on the 5th of May, all purchases made between the 5th of May and the 5th of June will be billed together on the 5th of the next month.
- This method simplifies expense tracking and provides a single monthly payment instead of multiple individual transactions.
If no purchases are made within a month, you will not be billed, keeping the process straightforward and cost-efficient.
Example Scenario
Imagine a user registers their payment method on Stripe on the 5th of May. Their billing cycle will follow this date each month:
- Any purchases made between the 5th of May and the 5th of June will be billed on the 5th of June.
- For months with no data purchases, no charges will be made, giving users full control over their costs.
