Every dataset listed on Data Boutique includes a free sample option, allowing you to preview a portion of the data before making a purchase. Free samples are an ideal way to assess data quality and relevance, ensuring it meets your needs.
What is Included in a Free Sample?
Each free sample contains ten records taken directly from the actual file you would receive if you purchased the complete dataset. These records are randomly selected by our system but are obtained directly from the full-length file, giving you an authentic preview of both the structure and content of the dataset.
Accessing Free Samples
Free samples are available to all users, whether logged in or not, and can also be accessed via the AWS S3 API.
- For Non-Logged Users: After requesting a free sample, you will receive an email with a link to download the sample file. Be sure to provide a valid email address to ensure access. Sometimes, spam filters may interfere, so check your spam or junk folder if the email doesn’t appear in your inbox.
- For Logged-In Users: If you’re logged in when requesting a sample, all free samples will be saved to your account under the “Buy” > “My Orders” > “Sample Files” menu. This feature allows logged-in users to keep track of all samples they’ve accessed, providing a convenient reference for future purchases.
- For AWS S3 API Users: Free samples are also available for users accessing datasets via the AWS S3 API. API users can retrieve sample files in the same way they would access other Data Boutique datasets, making it easy to preview data before committing to a purchase.
Note on Providing a Valid Email Address
Whether you’re logged in or accessing as a guest, please provide a valid email address when ordering free samples or creating your Data Boutique credentials. Temporary or disposable email addresses may block access to sample files. Using a legitimate email ensures you receive all communication regarding your sample requests.
